There are three (3) categories of activities;
SUPPLY CHAIN ACTIVITIES
Aimed at ensuring each farmer has timely access to quality farm inputs for crop production. Access to improve seed, quality fertilizers and crop protection products at the farm gate.
VALUE CHAIN ACTIVITIES
Aimed at enhancing smallholders’ connections to high-value markets for what they are able to produce. We conduct local and wider-area value-chain assessments to identify high-potential market opportunities and associated constraints for smallholder farmers. b. Organize farmers into marketing groups where appropriate in order to aggregate products for market access. c. Conduct workshops on priority production issues, with a focus on identifying women’s opportunities and barriers. d. Enhance existing extension services capacity to offer production advice. e. Train farmers’ on sustainable agriculture methods, including alternative and safer pest control methods, improved soil management, and water-efficient crop production strategies.
Aimed at enhancing Green Harvest’s ability to offer prosperity-enhancing product and service solutions for smallholder farmers by identifying innovations through supporting travel and networking. Use of market information to project staggered production to ensure all year round availability of fresh vegetables.
TIA AN LAA
Tia An Laa is the out-grower group formed to produce high value vegetable crops. Currently, membership is 130 comprising 53% females and 47% males. Tia An Laa currently produces Cucumber, Green Pepper, Cabbage and Cucumber for the market.
